Knew I would have some difficulty since my training was minimal .

Hip was sore throughout race but was able to run the distance. ( 10 and 1)

Would now like to try and qualify for Boston in the spring . (3:45)

Am I reasonable to aim for this? I am committed to train for this and attempt another Marathon in May of next year.

totally within your ability to get a 3:45 in May. Consistency over winter and staying healthy will get you there.

Haven't run since the marathon on Oct. 18 because of my sore hip. Going for massage therapy tomorrow. Hope it helps. Will try an easy 6 miles tonight and see how it feels. Stay tuned.......

6 miles -  49:00 m   Felt good however hip pain is still there  although slight.

Dropped the kids off at school dressed and looking like incredible zombies for their Halloween party at school. Decided to run in the light rain . Had massage therapy yesterday to the i.t. band which she said was causing the hip discomfort.

Had a playful easy run with some one minute threshold sprints thrown in. Hip pain is almost gone.

Nice fall day to run. Lots of leaves through the forest, could barely make out the trail in spots. Still running at medium speed keeping my pulse between 140 and 150. Little stiff at the end but generally feeling good trying to keep good posture and run more on the balls of my feet.

Steeles loop , 48:00 . Running more on the balls of my feet but feel it on the inside of my right knee.  I think I will hold off on this running style until I get more feedback. I believe this style of running is called  the  " pose " method. Also feel it in my calves.

Hip feels much better today.

Warm beautiful afternoon, had to get out and run after dropping off the twins. Ran my usual 9 km route along Etobicoke creek. Most of the run I ran 3  light posts followed by jogging one. Felt a twinge in my left knee towards the end so walked it in to the house.

Very cool that your 16 year old is a runner and will go out with you! I look forward to the day! My 16 year old (the oldest) is a soccer player, so in the off season she will do 3 miles with me here and there until it gets cold. But, I have my speedster 9 year old to look forward to in the future! That kids loves to run and he is pretty darn speedy for a kids who just runs occasional 5k's! It will be fun to see what happens when he gets old enough to want to train a little (right now, he just wants to play, and that is what 9 year olds are for).

6 kids, huh? Help me survive the homework, it is going to do me in!!!

Another gorgeous day. Ran easy with no aches or pain. 50 Min. run .  Hip soreness from the marathon is completely gone. Thinking of keeping my long runs to once per week with more 6-8 mile runs to keep a decent base until I ramp up  for a spring marathon.

Legs felt like lead today. Think the wall squats for my quads might have been the reason. Better save them for after the run.

Thanks for the prayers.
